We acknowledge the passing of Janice Liddle (1952-2026), a stalwart, treasured member of our group Climate Justice Taranaki and a long-time champion for peace, justice and the environment. It has been a privilege to have known you Janice, and to have stood by your side holding up placards and banners at protests across Taranaki.
For many years, Janice was our group’s treasurer, a role which she performed flawlessly. She would make sure that payments are made on time and presented the accounts at the AGM. Janice helped with writing media releases, gave input on submissions and always showed up to kaupapa when her health allowed.
Our love goes out to the whole Liddle family who are grieving the loss of their mother, sister, aunty and cousin. Janice was loved by many in Waitara and further afield through the connections she made as a political activist.
Janice passed away on 13th September 2026 at home in Waitara. We will miss you dearly. Rest in power Janice, and watch over us as we carry on walking the long road to freedom and justice. Moe mai rā.
